Aaron Pak
Founder
Aaron Pak, a passionate musician and leader, founded Brass to Class with a clear mission: to provide brass instruments to underfunded schools. As a high school senior, Aaron has dedicated much of his life to music, excelling as a brass player and serving as the drum major for his school’s marching band. His love for music goes beyond performance; Aaron deeply values the opportunities that music education has given him, and he wants to extend those same opportunities to students who may not have access to proper instruments.
Aaron’s musical expertise spans a range of brass instruments, including the trumpet, trombone, marching baritone, and contrabass trombone. His deep commitment to music education and his desire to make a difference in the world are what drove him to establish Brass to Class.
By founding this nonprofit, Aaron aims to create opportunities for young musicians in underserved communities to experience the joy and benefits of playing brass instruments. He believes that music can be a transformative force, and through Brass to Class, Aaron hopes to inspire and empower the next generation of musicians.
Empowering the Next Generation of Musicians
Welcome to Brass to Class, where we firmly believe that music education has the capacity to change lives. Our organization was started as a passionate project under the Pak Foundation, and its straightforward but profound goal is to close the gap between underfunded schools and the music industry by giving brass instruments to students who might not otherwise have the chance to discover their musical potential.
At Brass to Class, we just want every kid to have a chance to play music, no matter where they’re from or how much money they have. We get that music helps kids get creative, learn discipline, and express their feelings. It’s not just something extra for fun—it really matters. Our goal is to help kids become great brass players who can keep the music going, whether it’s in school or on a big stage someday.
A strong desire to positively impact young people’s lives led to the creation of Brass to Class. Our founder was aware of the significant disparities in access to music education amongst schools, especially in underfunded communities. The concept of Brass to Class, a project aimed at guaranteeing that financial limitations don’t hinder a child’s musical goals, emerged from a personal connection to music and a deep confidence in its educational significance.
Our goal at Brass to Class is to supply brass instruments, such as tubas, trombones, and trumpets, to schools who do not have the resources to sustain a music program. We work closely with teachers and school officials to determine the areas with the highest need, and we then provide instruments to these schools directly. However, our effort doesn’t end there. As part of our dedication to upholding accountability and openness, we frequently provide our contributors with updates on the results of their contributions.
There is a special place for brass instruments in music education. They are essential to many different musical genres and are strong and expressive. But they can also be pricey, which prevents many students from using them. By focusing on brass instruments, we hope to close a particular gap in the teaching of music and give students the resources they need to discover their musical potential and develop lifelong abilities.
